El Rancho vs Los Altos High School
2010 El Rancho Dons
The El Rancho Dons are set to open the 2010 Football season in quest for the first Del Rio League Championship since the 1997 Del Rio League Championship team. The Dons look to improve on their 2009 campaign which saw the Dons finish with a 5-6 record. The Dons advanced to the 2009 CIF Southeast Division playoffs where they stood toe to toe with the Almont Leauge Champion Schurr Spartans. Leading the way for the Dons will be SR QB Troy Campos who started in place of Josh Perea in a couple of games last season. The Dons also return one of the area's best ground games. SR RB Art Franco who rushed for 894 yards and 8 touchdowns returns to lead the way at RB for the Dons. Alongside Franco will be SR RB Chris Castro and JR RB's Ronnel Lone and Josh Lopez. At WR the Dons return SR WR Freddy Garcia who sparked the team during league play and in the 1st round of the playoffs vs Schurr.
On Defense the Dons look for SR LB Micah Robles and Jordan Barron to anchor the defense, along with Raymond Herrera filling out the other LB spot. DB's Jake Garcia, Daniel Moriel, and Chris Castro look to play huge roles in the Defensive backfield for the Dons. The Dons look for returning Defensive linemen Raul Orihuela to anchor the defensive line. El Rancho opens the season on September 3rd against the Jim Arellanes led Los Altos Conquerors.
